Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh has assured that the House will ensure there is transparency, fairness, accountability, integrity and competition in Public Procurement activities in the state
Hon. Dajoh stated this Tuesday at the Assembly Complex, Makurdi during the opening of bids for procurement of brand new vehicles for the Assembly.
” The event signaled the actual implementation of Benue State Public Procurement Act Two Thousand and Twenty in the State Assembly.” The Speaker stated.
According to a statement made available to Newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Terver Zamber, said his Principal expressed appreciation to Governor Hyacinth Alia for showing genuine concern about open policy, accountability, transparency, fairness, prudent management of resources and intrinsic value of money for creation of wealth for Benue people in line with global best practices.
Honourable Dajoh advised bidders to feel free as the exercise would be fair and transparent.
In a remark, Majority Leader, Hon. Saater Tiseer, Member Representing Makurdi South State Constituency, Hon. Douglas Akya and Member Representing Agasha State Constituency, Hon. William Ortyom all commended the speaker and the team from Public Procurement Commission for the transparency in the exercise and called for its sustenance.
On his part, Director Public Procurement, Benue State House of Assembly, Mr Jacob Ebe, said the bidding process was done in line with the procurement law as it was advertised in the journal and two national dailies.
Some observers Mrs Lucy Ogbaji and Mr Hungwa Denen thanked the organisers of the bidding exercise which they said was fair and encouraging.
