In a bid to leverage technology for improved education outcomes and factual data, Benue State Government has launched a school census exercise

According to the press release, the official launch of Benue State Education Management Information Systems (school census), organised by the state Ministry of Education and Knowledge Management in collaboration with her ICT partner, DigiWorld Global Synergy Limited, was held on Friday at Government Model College, Makurdi
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Dr. Fredrick Ikyaan, explained that innovations by his administration in the digital and technology space are a course so dear to his heart.
Governor Alia reaffirmed his commitment towards leveraging technology for improved education outcomes and factual data.
He commended stakeholders in the education sector, especially DigiWorld, and assured of his continued support towards uplifting the standard of schools, urging schools in the state to cooperate with the ministry to achieve maximum success.
In his remark, the MD/CEO of DigiWorld Global Synergy Limited, Ikper Chris commended the Governor for actively supporting the project.
While showcasing how the system works, he explained the flexibility and importance of enrolling all schools, teachers, students and pupils across the state, adding that the Benue State Education Management Information Systems (BEMIS), is designed to provide real-time data on schools, pupils, students and teachers, enabling policymakers to make informed decisions
“This cutting-edge system will enhance the state’s ability to track educational progress, identify areas of improvement, and allocate resources more effectively”, he maintained.
In their separate remarks, Director General Benue Education Quality Assurance Agency (BEQA), Dr. Terna Francis, the State Chairman, Parents Teacher Association (PTA) and State President, All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), unanimously welcomed the launch by Governor Alia, noting that it was a significant milestone in the education sector in the state.
