President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau has promised to pay the sum of 10% to the Super Eagles not later than December, 2024. He made this known during a meeting with the Super Eagles held in Abidjan.
The Super Eagles expressed their disappointment that they have not been paid their allowances and bonuses with some of these allowances dating as far back as 2020, Which according to the players, has demoralized them and killed their passions to play for the national team.
Gusau reassured the team of NFF’s commitment to the players and seek for their understanding and cooperation as the federation is passing through paucity of funds and promised to pay the team 10% of the outstanding allowances.
It will be recalled that, the federal government recently released the sum of 17B (seventeen billion naira) to offset the various debts incurred over the years including that of Flying Eagles, Falconets and Golden Eaglets that dates back to several years living many to wonder the rationale behind the payment of paltry sum of 10% instead of clearing the total sum.
