2024/25 NPFL : Nasarawa United FC defeats Lobi Stars  FC 1 -0 

Nasarawa United Football Club ( FC) on Saturday defeated Lobi Stars FC 1-0 in a highly contested 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League Match-day Sixteen clash of the North Central derby at the Lafia City Stadium.

The first half of the game saw Nasarswa United players dominating the match with Yes Father Boys barely struggling to catch with the Solid Miners .

In the 12th minute of the encounter, Qamar Adegoke of Nasarawa United scored the only goal that brought his Team out of the relegation zone bringing them to 14th position in the current NPFL league standings.

The match marked by intense rivalry and determination, saw United dominating possession and created several scoring opportunities throughout the first half of the game.

However, the resume of the second half saw Shoe Get Size Boys struggling hard to equalise as they got strong hold of the ball but the game ended 1-0 against the team.

The win by Nasarswa United is their second consecutive home win in recent times and provided a significant boost to their survival hopes.

In a post match reaction, Technical Adviser of the Solid Miners, Kabir Dogo, expressed joy over the win saying , that “there have been improvement in our last three games, but there is still room for more improvement; we need to win more games and move up higher the ladder.

“Today’s game is a fierce rivalry clash, full of high intensity and technicalities. Lobi Stars are not a pushover side; they gave us a good fight because they are well acclimatised with the terrain here as they use this same turf for their home games.

“We thank our supporters and fans for their undiluted support and we implore them never to relent as we will get out of the present predicament.

“On his part, Qamar Adegoke who scored the winning goal for Nasarswa United said : “I feel great scoring the winning goal for my team today. This is my second goal for the club in four appearances this season.

“I wish to score as many goals as possible to help my team come out of its current situation.”
