Benue Assembly Commends Clerk for Meritorious Service

Benue State House of Assembly has described the retired Clerk of the House, Barrister Bernard Nule as an intelligent, committed and hard-working man who stood firm for the effective function of the House.

The House made this known during a Valedictory session in honour of the retired Clerk during Thursday’s Plenary held at the hearing hall, Benue State House of Assembly, Makurdi.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh described the Speaker as a father, mentor, Guardian and Teacher who worked assiduously for his success and the Tenth Assembly in particular.

“We thank you for all that you have done for the Assembly during your service years and prayed Almighty God to continue to keep, protect and bless all your endeavors”

In their goodwill messages on behalf of Zone A, B and C Senatorial Districts, Hon. Peter Ipusu, Hon. Elias Audu and Michael Audu showered encomium on the retired Speaker, Barr.Nule for his resilience and commitment to his duties which have led to the House’s performance greatly.

Barr. Bernard Nule applauded the solidarity and support he received from the Speaker, Honourable Members and Staff of the Assembly during his Twenty Six Service years in the Assembly.

He called on staff of the Assembly to support any leadership bestowed on and urged them to shun indiscipline and any act of insubordination to leadership.

Barr. Nule particularly thanked the Speaker, leadership of the Tenth Assembly, Mr Peter Igbor and Mr Daniel Gever for their hard work and commitment to duties.

In a related development, the Benue State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Mr John Hwande as the Substantive Clerk of the House.

Until his appointment, Mr Hwande was Secretary, Benue State House of Assembly Service Commission.

Meanwhile, the House of Assembly, has screened and confirmed the nomination of Hon. Lydia Ngohemba Agaigbe (Gboko LGA) as Chairman, Benue State House of Assembly Service Commission.

The House also screened and Confirmed, Governor Hyacinth Alia’s nominees as members of the Commission. They are Hon. Otumala Ogbu (Oju), Hon. Dorcas Mbatiav (Ushongo LGA), Hon. Isaac Aondo (Katsina Ala LGA) and Hon Dennis Umbur.(Guma LGA)
