The member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Hajarat Ibrahim, has distributed items worth 30 million to her constituents.
Items distributed includes 200 wrappers to widows, 10 motorcycles, 30 grinding machines and 30 sewing machines.
Hon Ibrahm who is the only female lawmaker in the Assembly also facilitated the inclusion of 200 vulnerable persons into the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Scheme to improve their health statuses and standards of living.
Speaking at the distribution of the items on Tuesday in Nasarawa Local Government Area ( LGA) of the State, the Lawmaker said the empowerment Programme was a deliberate step to reach out to her constituents by impacting positively on their lives.
She stated that the gesture marked the 8th time she was giving out some packages in different forms to people of her constituency with the aim to alleviate their sufferings and assured of its sustenance.
“It gives me great joy and special happiness to inform you that the TALAFIN TAFISU Empowerment Programme for the people of Nasarawa Central Constituency has come to stay and sustained. Its impact will continue to be felt among our people.
“It will interest you to know that the initiative, TALAFIN TAFISU was a deliberate step and programme designed to use and reach out to the people by impacting on their lives positively, provide succour to segments of the society and human endeavors” she said.
The female lawmaker appreciated the people for giving her the mandate to represent them at the state assembly and assured of better days ahead.
“I want to use this medium to once again appreciate my constituents for the mandate and having faith in me and re-assure you that Nasarawa Central Constituency will be better for it by the grace of God.
“I, therefore urge you all to use whatever you have gotten for the purpose they are meant for, do not sell them.
“For those whom our gesture could not reach today please, be patient as time progresses it will get to your turn, that I assure you” she said.
Hon Ibrahim also reassured the people of her continuous partnership with the state government to attract more developmental projects and programmes to them for the growth and development of the area.
She therefore encouraged people of her constituency to sustain the peace being enjoyed in the area.
” May I stress that peace is the first instrument of development, let all of us continue to sustain the peace we are known for.
“And enhance our support for the government of Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy for our people” the lawmaker said.
On his part, the Executive Secretary, Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA), Dr Yahaya Ubam commended the lawmaker for registering 200 people of her constituency into the State Health Insurance scheme.
He said that the vision of the agency is to facilitate access to affordable, qualitative and sustainable healthcare services to all residents of the state.
The Executive Secretary called on other politicians, stakeholders and individuals to register their people into the State Health Insurance Scheme in order to improve on the health of their people.
Speaking separately, Emir of Nasarawa, HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Jibril, represented by the Emirate Secretary, Dr Idris Loko, Hon Mohammed Hassan, Chairman, Nasarawa LGA, represented by the Council’s Secretary, Hon Aisha Idoma, Alhaji Salisu Galadima, Chairman, Basira FC and State FA Chairman, Dr Aliyu Bello, Nasarawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, represented by Mr Isaiah Aggah all commended Hon Ibrahim over her purposeful leadership in the House and urged her to sustain the spirit.
They called on the beneficiaries to use the items to better their standard of living.
In an interview with journalists, some of the beneficiaries, Amos Audi and Hajiya Safiya Aliyu, appreciated the lawmaker for the gesture and prayed God to bless her abundantly.
