Benue Assembly passes 2025 budget estimates into law

Benue State House of Assembly has passed into law 2025 budget estimates of Five Hundred and Fifty Billion, One Hundred and Twelve Million, Nine Hundred and Eighty-Eight Thousand, Nine Hundred and Thirty Naira, Forty-Five Kobo only (N550,112,988,930.45).

The House passed the Bill into law during Monday’s Plenary held at the hearing hall, Benue State House of Assembly, Makurdi which was presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh.

It could be be recalled that on Wednesday, December 11th 2024, Benue state Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia presented 2025 budget estimates of N550,112,988,930.45 to the State Assembly.

He emphasized during the presentation that borrowing would only be considered when it becomes absolutely important. “Hon. Speaker, Hon. Members, despite favourable debt ratios, I want to reiterate that borrowing will only be considered as a last resort and for regenerative investment purposes. So far, we have managed the machinery of government without borrowing”

The budget christened “Budget of Human Capital Development, Food Security and Digital Economy”, represents a 47.5% increment over the 2024 revised and approved budget.
