We’ll keep our players together, says Coach Kude

The  former Skipper of Lobi Stars Football  Club of Makurdi and Coach of the Vandeikya Local Government Area football team, Benjamin Kude has  stated that his players will remain together for upcoming tournaments.

Coach Kude stated this on Saturday, after his team emerged winners of the 2024 edition of the Benue State Governor’s Cup competition decided at the JS Tarka Stadium in Gboko Local Government Area of the State.

 He said, “the next step going forward is for us to work hard and see how we can keep the players together for future competitions”.

According to the former midfield maestro, the Executive Chairman of the Vandeikya Local Government Council, Hon Dennis Guda had already expressed his commitment  to buy a slot for the team, to enable them play in the League. 

“The Chairman  said he wants to buy a slot for the team to go into the League and we are praying so hard that it should happen”. So my advice to the players is for them to work hard for their future endeavours,” he said.

Coach Kude who described Governor Hyacinth Alia as sports a loving governor who has done excellently well in the sporting sector,  expressed  appreciation to him for what he was doing in football in the State, saying  “football has come back to life in Benue State because of the coming of the governor”.

He appreciated the Benue State Football Association( BSFA) for reorganising the competition, saying, “I have given the BSFA under the leadership of Dr Paul Edeh a pass mark for trying so much by reorganising the Governor’s  Cup after a long time of not playing it”. 

“The Governor Cup lost its glamour for a long time and for him to come on board and revive it, I think it is a good development”.
