Full construction work has commenced on the dilapidated Igumale-Agila Road, following government mobilization of the contractors to site.
The Voice reports that the said road which has been a nightmare to motorists and the people of Ado Local Government for decades, witnessed skeletal reconstruction work last year, but the work could not progress due to the rainy season.
A statement by the media assistant to the Ado council chairman, Samson Otokpa and made available to The Voice at the weekend, revealed that his principal Engr Sunday Oche, during an inspection visit to the site on Friday, expressed happiness over the road construction which he noted had kick started fully.
The Chairman observed with delight that, the construction of the road would enhance connectivity and foster economic growth within the council.
The Voice gathered that Engr. Oche during the inspection, also praised the Benue State Governor, His Excellency, Rev Fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his commitment to improving the state’s infrastructure, adding that the partnership between the state government and the local government council is crucial for the successful execution of such projects.
“The collaboration between the state and local government is a testament to our shared vision of progress and development.
“The Igumale-Agila road, when constructed will significantly reduce travel time and improve access to essential services for residents in this area.
“The road’s completion will not only enhance transportation but also stimulate local businesses and attract investment,” Oche emphasized.
The council boss reassured the people of the local government’s dedication to ensuring timely completion and quality work and urged them to remain patient and supportive, stressing that the benefits of the project would be felt for generations to come.
A resident of the area, Ogbu Otse, confirmed that all the equipments needed for the work are at the site and work progressing gradually.
