The Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia on Tuesday, swore in the Chairman of Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, Dr Philip Nongu as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Creativity.
Reacting to his appointment at a reception organised in his honour in Makurdi, Dr Nongu promised that, “I will be a responsive and responsible officer who would ensure implementation of the policies and programmes of the Alia administration, In line with his seven- point agenda”.
He further said, “I will work hard and leave lasting legacies that will stand a taste of time in the history of Benue state and also ensure that staff of the Ministry, adhere to the code of the Civil Service which allows for discipline and respect for the constituted authority”.
The Chairman who is also the Director of Sports, Benue State Sports Council BSSC, thanked Governor Hyacinth Alia for finding him worthy of the appointment. He stressed that, “my appointment is based on my track record, commitment and proven integrity”.
“My appointment has confirmed that there is reward for hard work and resilience, and when it is your time, recognition will come with ease. I will not betray the confidence that is reposed in me”.
