I’ll continue to impact my community – Prof Korzerzer

An Associate Professor, Department of Veterinary Anatomy, Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Dr. Rachel Mngusuur Korzerzer has said she would continue to impact her family, community and the world with the rare opportunity God has given her to celebrate another year.

She stated this Sunday, at the Catholic Youth Center, Makurdi during a thanksgiving mass to celebrate her birthday and recent promotion to professorial rank.

The academic guru, who dedicated the promotion to God Almighty, maintained that those achievements would not have been possible without God, hence the thanksgiving.

“I am grateful to God for granting me yet another year and the opportunity to start a new chapter. No amount will be able to quantify all His blessings to me and my family, just to appreciate His faithfulness”She explained.

She further, appreciated her family and friends for the unconditional love and support they have always shown her through her life’s journey, and counted herself blessed for having them.

Preaching earlier in a Homily, the assistant priest, Catholic Youth Center, Rev. Fr Simon Tarbo, charged Christians to cultivate a deliberate or intentional use of positive words and speech.

Rev. Tarbo who read from Luke 6: 41- 45, with the theme “We are what we say” admonished Christians against negative expressions towards others as words have the power to either unite or divide, disregard or favour, encourage or discourage among others.

“Our words are powerful, they hold the key to a lot of things in the life of man, and people mostly depend on our words to move forward.

He called on parents, guardians, teachers, spouses and the like to be mindful of what to say, or is said to the children, wards, spouses, in order to avoid the destructive effects of wrong usage, urging them to seek God’s grace to apply discipline as stated in Proverbs 14 : 3.
