Benue State Head of service (HOS), Dr. Moses Agbogbo Ode has acknowledged the commitment of the commissioner and management team of the Ministry of Power, Renewable Energy and Transport to their mandate despite challenges.
Dr. Agbogbo Ode, gave this commendation Wednesday when he received the commissioner, Hon. Omale Omale and management team in his office on a courtesy call.
In a statement on Saturday, the Information Officer, Office of the Head of Service, Dooshima Abuul said, the Head of Service who acknowledged the ministry’s role of developing and facilitating the implementation of policies for the provision of adequate and reliable power supply and energy needed to drive the socio economic activities in the state, stated that he would do the comparison of what is obtainable at the Federal Ministry of Power in order to domesticate the reforms needed for the implementation of the mandate of the new ministry.
According to the statement, the HOS directed the team to forward their request to his office to enable him present it appropriately, stating that the ministry was a critical sector in the development and implementation of policies of the administration.
Earlier, Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Omale Omale while thanking the Head of Service for the interface expressed appreciation to the Governor for creating the Ministry and appealed for a take-off grant and professional staff to be employed in the Ministry.
Hon. Omale Omale also appealed for proper coordination and Gazetting of the Ministry’s operation to effectively and successfully deliver on its mandate.
In his remark, Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Welfare in the Office of the Head of Service Dr. Elvis Ogenyi thanked the commissioner and his team for not relenting in their quest to have a functional system, and applauded the Governor’s foresight in the introduction of the e-economy which is technologically driven as the Power and Renewable Energy sector would fast track the Governors plans of creating a new Benue.
