The Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Eric Chelle has emphasized the need for improvement despite the Eagles’ 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali last Friday.
In a post-match conference, Chelle praised his players for their performance against a tough Rwandan side. “It was a difficult game because Rwanda is a good side,” he said. “I am so happy and proud of my players, my guys, and the Nigerian people”
Chelle revealed that the team worked extensively in the lead-up to the match, with video sessions and training practices. He attributed the team’s victory to their hard work, but stressed that there is still room for improvement.
“The victory is normal because in the first half, they had only one chance to score,” Chelle said. “We kept the ball in the 2nd half and played two to three systems. I am happy now, but this is just one game. We have some weaknesses and strengths, and my job is to think about the game project”
The Super Eagles will face Zimbabwe on Tuesday (tomorrow ) in Uyo, and Chelle is already focusing on the next challenge. With the team still in contention for a World Cup spot, Chelle’s demand for improvement is a clear indication that he is pushing for nothing but the best from his team.
