Benue Links to introduce e-ticketing

…As Gov Alia donates generator to NUJ

Benue Links Nigeria Limited is set to begin e-ticketing in order to ease the hassles associated with on site booking of tickets.

General Manager of the company, Comrade Alexander Fanafa disclosed this to journalists on Thursday during their congress at the NUJ house, Makurdi.

He explained that that Benue Links Nigeria Limited under his watch has unveiled series of significant infrastructure upgrades and service enhancements aimed at improving operations and passenger experience.

“Benue Links has established an ICT center to train staff in preparation for an upcoming online booking platform. The company has also audited its leasing schemes, introducing a Private Partnership scheme that successfully identified illegal vehicle operators and created a verifiable vehicle database”, he said.

According to him, some key achievements of his administration include the construction of a standard box culvert and drainage channel at the company’s headquarters in Makurdi, effectively addressing longstanding flooding issues.

Comrade Fanafa also stated that, to ensure continuous fuel availability and reduce travel time, the company has reactivated its moribund fuel dump, which now offers fuel for sale on-site. He added that the installation of solar lights and an electronic signpost has improved visibility and safety around the terminus.

He further explained that the company has made strides in improving staff welfare by clearing salary arrears dating back to 2015 and ensuring timely monthly payments, saying the reopening of inter and intra-state routes has further expanded transportation options, while a new travel policy offers a 50% discount on fares for persons living with disabilities (PLWD).

Meanwhile Governor Hyacinth Alia has donated a 9.8KVA Generator to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ to address the power challenge at the NUJ House, Makurdi.

General Manager, Benue Links Nigeria Limited Mr. Alexander Fanafa who made the donation on behalf of the Governor, said Journalists deserve all the support to enable them discharge their duties effectively Fanafa who appreciated journalists in the state for their hard work and objectivity in news reportage encouraged them to keep being fair and balance

Responding, the state chairman of NUJ, Comrade Bemdoo Ugbe expressed deep appreciation to the Benue State governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia and the General Manager of Benue Links for gifting the union an industrial size generating set.
