Rev. Bee Undu, Resident Pastor of NKST (Universal Reformed Christian Church) Akaa-Kusuv in Garagboghol-classis, has emphasized the significance of prioritizing Jesus Christ in one’s life.
Speaking to the congregation on Sunday during the Tiv worship service that also witnessed the thanksgiving of ‘Ever young Mothers’ at NKST Church, Iortyer, Rev. Undu who is also the secretary of the Garagboghol-classis expressed disappointment that many still do not recognize the importance of worshiping Christ in truth and spirit, despite His sufferings and sacrifice for humanity’s salvation.
Reading from the Song of Solomon 5:1-8, Rev Undu explained that the groom in the passage from the Song of Solomon represents Christ, while the bride represents believers.
He noted that just as the bride refused to let the groom in, citing flimsy reasons, many believers are forsaking Jesus today, prioritizing worldly pleasures and minor reasons over their relationship with Him.
Rev. Undu emphasized the need to surrender one’s life to Jesus while He still knocks at the door of their heart, citing Matthew 11:28-29, where Jesus invites those who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest.
The Clergy warned against procrastination, using the example of the bride in the passage who delayed and ultimately missed her opportunity with the groom.
He also referenced the rich man in Luke 16:19-31, who prioritized worldly wealth over spiritual well-being, only to realize too late the error of his ways.
Rev. Undu emphasized the importance of repentance, citing Revelation 3:20, where Jesus calls believers to repent and return to Him. He encouraged the congregation to give Christ a chance to dwell in their hearts, stressing that there is no reason to miss this privilege.
