Easter celebration: Benue civil servants enjoy work-free days

The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has declared Thursday, Friday, and Monday as work-free days for all civil servants.

This is in recognition of the significance of the Easter Triduum to the Christian community in Benue State.

According to a statement signed by Barr. Serumun Deborah Aber, Secretary to the Government of Benue State, on Tuesday (today), “This decision is to enable our hardworking civil servants to participate fully in the sacred celebrations and observances of the Easter Triduum, which holds deep spiritual significance for Christians around the world.

“During these days, all government offices and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) will be closed. We encourage all citizens to use this opportunity to reflect, recharge, and spend quality time with their loved ones.

“The Governor extends his warmest wishes to all Christians in Benue State and beyond, praying that the Easter celebrations bring joy, peace, and spiritual renewal to all.”

The statement further maintained that all christians are therefore expected to emerge from this period of reflection and celebration rejuvenated and strengthened in their faith and service to humanity and a determination for a greater Benue.
