Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has extended heartfelt congratulations to Christians worldwide, particularly in the state, on the occasion of Easter.
In a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere Saturday in Jos, the Governor described the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a triumph over sin and death.
The Governor’s Easter message reads in part: “Easter is the cornerstone of the Christian faith, centered on the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for humanity’s salvation. This sacred occasion offers us an opportunity for reflection, renewal, and unwavering hope.”
Governor Mutfwang emphasized the significance of Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary, stating, “Let us never forget the immeasurable prize paid for our forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life. His resurrection assures us of victory over sin, despair, and every adversity.”
The Governor urged Christians to embrace the spirit of Easter with renewed hope, praying for the Holy Spirit to reveal the profound power and mystery of Christ’s resurrection. He commended those who observed the Lenten season, encouraging them to uphold the virtues of self-denial, prayer, and reflection.
Governor Mutfwang also called on citizens to commit to fervent prayers for leaders, struggling communities, and Plateau State, trusting God for divine renewal, peace, and progress. He expressed confidence that, by God’s grace and mercy, the state would overcome challenges and achieve peace, promise, and great potential.
In his concluding remarks, the Governor emphasized the importance of unity and peace, stating, “I remain confident that by God’s grace and mercy, we shall overcome every challenge before us. Let us, therefore, pursue peace with all people and work in unity to confront the issues facing us. This is the time to rise above our differences and draw strength from our diversity in Christ. Together, let us rebuild and reclaim Plateau, a land of peace, promise, and great potential,” he declared
