The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has unveiled the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) Strategic Action Plan 2024-2029.
The plan outlines strategic initiatives and objectives for implementation in the institution.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the university’s 4th stakeholders meeting and one-year anniversary of the appointment of the current Vice Chancellor, Prof Sa’adatu Liman.
Governor Sule, who is also the Visitor of the university, applauded the management for the strategic action plan and promised to give the university maximum support to actualize the plan.
“I came in and found a rising profile of the university, and I believe that I must give in all my best in order for this university to be what it is. And I’m happy that we have a team that is driving that, the best that we can achieve for this institution,” he said.
The Governor acknowledged the institution’s challenges, including insecurity, fencing, and student accommodations, but expressed confidence in the university’s potential to become one of the leading universities in the country.
“We are going to sign a Public Private Partnership with a company that already did the hostels at University of Lagos. So they are coming into the university here to construct 1,152 bed hostels,” he announced.
The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor Attahiru Jega, appreciated the state government for its support and encouraged stakeholders to contribute to the university’s development.
“Each of us has a role to play in contributing to the development of the university. That is how great universities are developed,” he said.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Liman, highlighted the institution’s goals, including strengthening its academic foundation and broadening research frontiers.
“The vision was never intended to be theoretical. It was a practical roadmap anchored on measurable outcomes. I am proud to report that, one year on, we have made tangible and meaningful progress in turning this vision into reality,” she said.
She called for continued stakeholder support to achieve the university’s set goals, particularly in actualizing its Strategic Action Plan 2024-2029.
“Let me re-emphasize that this one-year milestone is not a destination. Rather, it is a defining beginning. It marks the foundation of a new era of growth, excellence, and global relevance for Nasarawa State University Keffi,” she added.
