The Vice President (VP) of the Federal Reublic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima has described the opening ceremony of the 22nd National Sports Festival tagged “Ogun 2024 Gateway Games” held at the MKO Abiola stadium Abeokuta, Ogun State as a masterpiece.
Shettima who represented the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event, said, “as a unifier, sports is capable of turning the nation away from the echoes of war and ensuring the togetherness of every Nigerian, irrespective of their tribe, tongue, and religion”.
“The opening ceremony is a very beautiful one and I want to tell you that words cannot adequately convey our debt of gratitude to the Governor, for all the resources and energy he used to showcase Ogun and the nation to the world”.
He commended the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun for passionately showcasing the state to the world through the sports festival, and that the federal government cannot stop thanking the state for hosting the nearly 20,000 Nigerians from across the length and breadth of the country.
