As Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration approaches its second anniversary on May 29th, 2025, commissioners in Plateau State have been tasked with presenting their performance scorecards to the public. This initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Information, aims to keep citizens informed about government successes and challenges.
Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Joyce Ramnap, encouraged journalists to ask pertinent questions during the presentations, which would enable the commissioners to share compelling stories. She noted that most commissioners have performed optimally.
Seven commissioners presented their scorecards, highlighting achievements in their respective ministries. These included Youth and Sport, Tourism and Hospitality, Science and Technology, Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Mineral Development, Housing and Urban Development, Finance, and the newly created Ministry of Livestock, Veterinary Services, and Fisheries.
The Commissioner for Tourism and Hospitality, Hon. Cornelius Doeyok, revealed that his ministry inherited a struggling department. He noted that animals at the Jos Wildlife Park were underfed, resulting in some deaths. However, under the current administration, the state government has allocated N7.5 million for wildlife feeding.
On his part, Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development, Hon. Musa Ashoms, stated that Governor Mutfwang has repositioned the ministry to create a better future for Plateau State’s youth.
The ministerial press briefing series will conclude this Thursday, providing citizens with a comprehensive overview of the government’s progress and achievements.
