Nasarawa Female Commissioner Wins African Iconic Award 2025

The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Princess Margaret Elayo has been honoured with the African Iconic Award 2025 as Best Female Performing Commissioner in Nigeria.

Princess Elayo received the prestigious award at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to public service and commitment to promoting the welfare of vulnerable people in the state.

The Commissioner while receiving the award commended organisers of the event and Governor Abdullahi Sule for giving her the platform to focus on providing support to vulnerable people, ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry.

She also commended the Minister of Women Affairs, Imam Suleiman and all the people of Nasarawa State for their continuous support, pledging to continue to put smiles on the faces of vulnerable members of the society.

As a dedicated public servant, Princess Elayo has made significant impacts in Nasarawa State, particularly in her role as Commissioner for Special Duties on Humanitarian Services and NGOs and Commissioner for Women Affairs and Humanitarian Services focusing on providing support to vulnerable populations, including the distribution of food items and cash to those in need.

She has also worked closely with Governor Abdullahi Sule to implement policies and programs that benefit students and educators in the state.

The African Iconic Award serves as a testament to Princess Elayo’s dedication to serving humanity and her commitment to excellence in public service.

Her recognition at the national level highlights her potential to inspire positive change and promote development in Nasarawa State.
