Benue State Head of Service, Dr. Moses Agbogbo Ode, has called on the people of Benue to support Governor Hyacinth Alia’s re-election bid in 2027, citing the administration’s notable achievements in transforming the state.
Dr. Ode made this appeal during a visit by the Divine Mandate Initiative for Leadership and Development, led by Permanent Secretary and SEMA Boss, Dr. James Iorpuu.
According to Dr. Ode, Governor Alia’s administration has prioritized the welfare of civil servants, ensuring regular payment of salaries and pensions, a stark contrast to the previous administration’s inability to meet these obligations, which crippled the state’s economy. He highlighted the governor’s efforts in renovating the secretariat complex, providing modern furniture, ensuring constant water supply, and connecting it to the 33KVA power grid.
Dooshima Abuul, Information Officer, office of the Head of Service in a statement on Tuesday said Dr. Ode emphasized that with the significant growth in the state’s economy and other achievements in just two years, there is a need to support the governor in another bid for the seat in 2027, promising to be part of that movement.
Earlier, Dr. James Iorpuu, Convener and Leader of the Divine Mandate Initiative, stated that the group, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, is not a political group but one that seeks good governance. He affirmed that Governor Alia is a true democrat whose administration has rekindled hope and trust among the people, and should be given another opportunity to consolidate and deliver good governance.
Also speaking, Dr. Elvis Ogenyi, Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Welfare, expressed happiness that Governor Alia’s administration has not disappointed the electorate. He called on the people to give their total support to the governor in 2027 to continue his good work.
