A group, Plateau State “PDP Frontiers”, which claimed to be a section of the Peoples Democratic Party, has alleged that the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang has not completed any project in the last two years of his administration.
The group’s Chairman, Mr. Lumumba Dauda, made the allegations during a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Plateau State Council on Saturday evening in Jos.
According to the group, the Mutfwang administration is yet to make any significant achievement two years into his first tenure.”Sadly and pathetically, the reality staring at our faces as Plateau citizens indicates that the Mutfwang administration is yet to record any successful completion and commissioning of a single project in the State, despite the huge amount of funds leveraged to his administration from the monthly allocation received from the Federal Government,” Dauda claimed.
The group made an unfavorable comparison of Mutfwang with other first-time governors, such as Alex Otti of Abia and Peter Mbah of Enugu, saying the Plateau governor has failed to attract national attention or investment, and his inability to invite President Tinubu to commission any project is an indication of failure.
The group accused the governor of running a government with his kinsmen only. The PDP Frontiers expressed grave concern over continued killings and displacements across several LGAs, including Bokkos, Barkin Ladi, Riyom, and Mangu, lamenting that the governor has not shown the political will to address the crisis.
They also said the governor has abandoned the party’s ideology, “turning the PDP in Plateau State to a shadow of what it used to be.” They added that, “despite being the ruling party in the State, the PDP has failed to attract decampees from the opposition; instead, it keeps losing members to the opposition party, the APC, which is signaling a red light ahead of the 2027 general election”
