The Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has launched a distribution program for transformers to 165 communities across the state, aiming to boost energy supply. Launching the transformers on Monday at the Taraba State Transport Company (TSTC) premises in Jalingo, the Governor emphasized that this initiative fulfills his electoral campaign promises.
According to Governor Kefas, the administration seeks to illuminate Taraba communities and stimulate economic development. The transformer launch coincides with his second-year anniversary, and he assured that the transformers would be evenly distributed across the state.
The Governor warned against diversion, stating that anyone distorting the distribution process would face the full wrath of the government. He urged traditional rulers, stakeholders, and youths to ensure the absolute safety of government facilities.
The Emir of Muri, HRH Alhaji Abbas Isa Tafida, responded by expressing gratitude to the Governor for providing the transformers, describing him as “God-sent.” The traditional ruler pledged unwavering support for the Governor’s administration and assured that the traditional institution would protect the facilities from sabotage.
Meanwhile, Governor Agbu Kefas reaffirmed his commitment to good governance in Taraba State during a stakeholders’ press briefing marking his two-year anniversary. He highlighted key achievements, including the declaration of free and compulsory education to reduce poverty and usher in prosperity.
The Governor emphasized that education would remain a priority, providing Taraba children with purposeful and quality education. He also noted significant milestones in security, salary payments, agriculture, health, and job creation. Notably, the state has made progress in combating kidnapping and armed robbery, and the administration has ensured prompt payment of salaries, including the new minimum wage.
Governor Kefas was accompanied to the briefing by prominent dignitaries, including the Emir of Muri, the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, John Bozzina, State Executive Council members, and Local Government Chairmen.
