In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu has rescheduled his official visit to Kaduna State, instead opting to visit Benue State on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. The President’s visit to Benue aims to address the persistent attacks on communities in the state and foster peace.
According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy on Monday, President Tinubu will meet with stakeholders, including traditional rulers, political and religious leaders, and youth groups, to seek lasting solutions to the hostilities.
In preparation for the visit, the President has dispatched key officials to Benue, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, and the National Security Adviser.
During his visit, President Tinubu is expected to hold a town hall meeting with stakeholders. This move comes after the President condemned the ongoing violence in Benue State and called for peace, love, and mutual understanding among residents.
The President’s original visit to Kaduna State, scheduled for Wednesday, has been rescheduled to Thursday, June 19, 2025.
