Governor Abdullahi Sule has flagged off the distribution of fertilisers and other essential farming inputs to local farmers as part of his administration’s Agricultural Support Scheme in Ningo/Bohar Ward of Akwanga Local Government Area of the State.
This , he said is in a bid to enhance crop yields and improve food security.
The Founder of Kwantamania Progressive Movement For Engr A.A. Sule Foundation and the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Yakubu Kwanta performed the distribution on Saturday in Akwanga LGA.
Kwanta explained that the initiative is aimed at supporting farmers in boosting agricultural productivity and achieving sustainable rural development.
He said the gesture was part of a broader strategy to promote agricultural development in the villages and State at large, recognising the critical role of farming in the local economy and food security.
“Through this programme, we are not only empowering individuals, we are also investing in the agricultural future of our communities and reinforcing Governor Abdullahi Sule’s vision for sustainable rural development in the State.
“With your undiluted support, more of this gesture will be coming your way before the end of this administration.
“We hope and pray that my principal, the Governor, will answer our clarion call to contest for the Senatorial position in our Zone so that we can continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy and excellent leadership.
“We are not only empowering individuals, we are also investing in the agricultural future of our communities and reinforcing Governor Abdullahi Sule’s vision for sustainable rural development in the State,” he said.
The Commissioner expressed gratitude to the farmers for their hard work and assured them of sustained support.
One of the beneficiaries and Village Head of Bohar, Ali Mango expressed gratitude to the governor and the commissioner for bringing good governance to the grassroots.
“This initiative is a timely intervention that will significantly impact our farming activities.
“We thank our beloved Governor, Engr. Sule, and our worthy son, the Commissioner, Kwanta Yakubu, for bringing good governance to the grassroots,” he said.
Other beneficiaries, including Iliya Maikasuwa, Village Head of Ningo, and Gana Malo, Ward Head of Ambu Community, also assured the commissioner and Governor Sule of their total loyalty and support.
Over 40 bags of NPK 20:10:10 fertilisers and 400 bottles of herbicides were distributed to district heads, village heads, and other beneficiaries.
The distribution ceremony was attended by notable personalities, including Hon Larai Makpu, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Youth Development, Hon Martha Ngbreni, SSA to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Humanitarian Affairs, Evangelist Zachariah Barki (Commissioner, Local Government Service Commission).
Others were; Hon Kefas Buba(Councilor representing Ningo/Bohar Electoral Ward); Rt. Hon Asibiti Jonathan (Councilor representing Gwanje Ward); Hon Usaini Dio(Councillor representing Akwanga-East Ward); Dr Best Barau(President, Bohar Development Association); Prof. Mamman Adua; Hon. Solomon Adua(Former Councillor Ningo/Bohar Electoral Ward), among others.
