A bill for the establishment of the University of Agriculture and Recycling Industries, Climate Change, has passed its second reading in the Taraba State House of Assembly. The bill is co-sponsored by three members of the House: Rt. Hon. Abel Diah (Mbamnga Constituency), Hon. Abdulazeez Suleiman (Gembu Constituency), and Hon. Nelson Len (Nguoreje Constituency).
During a public hearing on the bill, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. John Bozzina, expressed satisfaction with the contributions of stakeholders. He commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his administration’s policies in education and other critical sectors that are impacting citizens’ lives.
The Speaker also lauded the bill’s sponsors, noting that when passed into law, it will enhance the governor’s free education policy. Rt. Hon. Abel Diah expressed joy at the bill’s progress, highlighting the importance of the proposed university in addressing issues related to recycling industries and climate change.
The Chief of Mambilla Chiefdom, HRH Chief Audu Baju, praised the lawmakers for their unity of purpose and commended Governor Kefas for his efforts in promoting development, especially in the education sector.
On his part, Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, Barr. Katafs Timothy, noted that the stakeholders’ understanding and support for the governor’s policies are rewriting Taraba State’s history as a prosperous and developed state.
