The Police Command in Nasarawa State has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a stolen vehicle.
The suspects, Basiru Lawal and Dahiru Mohammed, were apprehended in the early hours of Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Jibo Filling Station along Jos Road, Lafia.
According to a press statement issued on Sunday by SP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO) in the State, the Police received distress call about an ongoing armed robbery at a residence in Shinge by Railway Quarters in Lafia at about 3:00 a.m.
Nansel explained that the suspects, operating as a gang, carted away a Toyota Corolla with registration number GRU 106 AE, along with a Jincheng motorcycle.
“The suspects were intercepted and arrested by our officers at Jibo Filling Station along Jos Road, Lafia, in possession of the stolen Toyota Corolla.
“Efforts are ongoing to track down the remaining fleeing gang member(s) and recover the stolen motorcycle,” Nansel explained.
He said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the swift response and professionalism of the officers involved.
“The Nasarawa State Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property across the state. We urge members of the public to continue supporting the Police by promptly reporting suspicious movements and activities in their neighborhoods”, he said.
The PPRO reiterated that the police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of residents in the State.
