The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger State chapter has urged the victims of the Mokwa flood disaster to remain hopeful and assured them of continued prayers.
In a gesture of solidarity on Monday, the CAN Chairman, Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Yohanna, presented a donation comprising 10 bags of maize, 5 bags of guinea corn, and 12 bags of clothing, bags, and shoes.
“We, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State, extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to you and our fellow citizens who have faced this devastating flood disaster in Mokwa,” Dr. Yohanna said.
He emphasized that the association had mobilized members from all 25 local government areas to provide support during this challenging time.
Dr. Yohanna who is also the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, offered prayers for the state and expressed his grief for those who had lost loved ones, urging the community to maintain hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
Responding on behalf of the state government, Permanent Secretary for Humanitarian and Disaster Management Affairs, Barrister Mairo Mann, appreciated CAN’s initiative and assured that the government would ensure the assistance reaches the rightful victims.
