Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has flagged off the construction of 24.5km Wamba-Waiye-Dengi-Alizaga Road in Wamba Local Government Area ( LGA) of the State.
The project, worth N9,061,627,000.00, is being undertaken by Centerfield Engineering Limited under the supervision of the Nasarawa State Bureau for Rural Development.
Speaking on Friday at the Flag-off ceremony, Governor Sule said the road project is critical and will serve as a vital economic corridor, connecting communities and boosting agriculture, commerce as well as ease mobility.
“This project, when completed, will serve as a vital economic corridor, connecting communities and boosting agriculture, commerce, and ease mobility,” he said.
The Governor urged the contractor to carry out the construction in line with specifications and safety standards, while appealing to the host communities to accord the contractor the necessary cooperation and support.
“I wish to appeal to the host communities within this road corridor to accord the Contractor the cooperation and support required for the successful execution of the project,” he said.
Governor Sule reiterated the commitment of his administration to providing infrastructural development for the socio-economic development of the state.
He further explained that the construction of the road was part of the state’s efforts to open up rural areas and create inter-connectivity among communities with proven potentials for socio-economic development.
The Governor expressed his desire for a prosperous, secured, and connected Nasarawa State, saying, “It is our desire that we have a prosperous, secured and connected Nasarawa State.”
