The Mbausu United Development Association (MUDA), Makurdi Branch, has urged the Acting Vice Chancellor of Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (MOAUM), Professor Simon Ubwa, to remain steadfast and resilient in his duties and responsibilities to propel the institution and Benue State to greater heights.
The President of the Association, Mr. Cephas Awuhe, issued this charge during a solidarity and courtesy visit to the Acting Vice Chancellor’s office in Makurdi on Friday. Mr. Awuhe commended the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for appointing Professor Ubwa to the prestigious position and urged the Acting Vice Chancellor not to disappoint the Governor and the people of Benue State.
Mr. Awuhe also pleaded with Professor Ubwa to work tirelessly to ensure that students of the institution benefit from the National Education Loan Funds, enabling the poor and vulnerable in Benue State to acquire higher education. Additionally, he appealed to the Vice Chancellor to consider Mbausu sons and daughters in recruitment, admission, and research initiatives that can drive progress and development in the Mbausu community.
Responding, Professor Ubwa expressed gratitude for the solidarity visit, describing it as one of the greatest gestures he had received recently. He stated that he was working hard with the Bursary Department to ensure that many students benefit from the National Education Loan Funds. The Acting Vice Chancellor assured his maternal kinsmen that they would be remembered in recruitment and admission processes during his tenure.
Professor Ubwa also appealed for continued prayers to enable him to succeed in his role and called on his maternal kinsmen to support and pray for the administration of Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, which he believes has the best interests of the state’s progress and development at heart.
In a vote of thanks, the Patron of MUDA, Makurdi Branch, Professor S. I. Andural, urged the Vice Chancellor to remain committed to his duties and responsibilities while thanking him for the honor accorded the Association.
The highlight of the visit was the dressing of Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Ubwa in Tiv traditional attire, accompanied by prayers offered by Pastor Terlumun Vaatia and Pastor Igbawua for God’s continued protection, long life, and blessings over the life of the Acting Vice Chancellor, his family, and the entire institution.
