The Benue State House of Assembly has debunked rumors circulating that Speaker of the 10th Assembly, Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh, has resigned as Speaker of the House. In an interview with newsmen on Thursday, Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Information, Hon. Alfred Emberga, stated that the rumors in their entirety are a total fabrication emanating from the depths of falsehood.
“The news circulating on social and other media is unfounded, mischievous, and the imagination of the originator, and not from the Speaker or the Honorable House,” Hon. Emberga said.
The information committee Chairman further stated that Honourable Speaker is steering the affairs of the House with unity, peace, and harmony and added that members of the House are fully supportive of the Speaker’s efforts to succeed. He noted that during Hon. Dajoh’s leadership as Speaker of the 10th Benue House of Assembly, the House has passed many bills into law, moved several motions, and taken resolutions aimed at propelling the state to greater heights.
“The bill for the establishment of Benue State University of Agriculture, Science, and Technology, Ihugh; the bill for the establishment of the Disability Commission; and several others were enacted by the House to uplift the state,” Hon. Emberga maintained.
He appealed to the people of the state to continue supporting the House in its efforts to provide effective representation and enact laws that can uplift the state.
