Benue Deputy Governor lauds Adagba’s transformative leadership

Benue State Deputy Governor, Barrister Sam Ode has lauded the transformative leadership of the Chairman, Benue State Universal Basic Board (SUBEB), Dr Grace Adagba.

Barrister Ode described the SUBEB Chairman as someone with experience and courage to deliver on her mandate, saying she has performed excellently.

The Deputy Governor stated this Tuesday at the SUBEB headquarter, Makurdi while commissioning a multi purpose hall that was remodeled and furnished by Eduwaves Publishers Limited to enhance the activities of the Board.

He said the Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia knows how to put the right people at the helms of affairs. “SUBEB has not had it this good. Today we have change agents who are in their prime and doing the work which they were appointed to do. Dr Adagba is one of them”

Barrister Ode who described primary education as the bedrock of academic excellence, urged the SUBEB Chairman to sustain the tempo and not allow herself to be distracted, stating that every positive change will attract attacks and criticisms. “Doing reform in any sector, you must step on toes. Those who are benefiting from the old order will fight back. Don’t be deterred”

He commended the board members and staff for supporting Dr Adagba and called on them to continue on that path.

In a remark, Benue State Coordinator of Universal Basic Education Board (UBEC), Emmanuel Baba disclosed that UBEC believes in excellence and noted that, SUBEB under the leadership of Dr Adagba has lived up to expectations.

“Within the short period of Dr Adagba’s leadership, she has attracted a lot to Benue State through her effective leadership”

He pledged that UBEC will continue to support the state to ensure that the Benue child has access to quality education.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman of SUBEB enumerated her achievements within the last year to include human resource development, infrastructure, ICT integration and academic excellence, adding that the board will not be distracted.
