The Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa has warned its students against participating in signing out ceremonies and spraying money during graduation, cautioning that those caught will face penalties.
According to a statement signed by the Ag. Director of Information and Publicity, Mrs Safina Sabo, the management has cancelled the signing out ceremony and prohibited celebrations involving the spraying of Naira notes.
The statement said decision was made after a meeting with the Students Union Government (SUG) Executive, Class Representatives, and Schools’ Senators on June 2, 2025.
It emphasised that any immoral, indecent, or disrespectful conduct that could tarnish the institution’s reputation will not be tolerated and will attract severe consequences.
“All graduating students will sign an undertaking to comply with the ban and the likely consequences of cancellation of exams, expulsion, or repeat session should any student violate the ban,” the statement read.
The statement also prohibited the possession of firearms, consumption or trading of alcoholic drinks, illicit drugs, or any other intoxicants within the polytechnic premises.
The institution has also warned that departments and invigilators who allow students to enter examination halls with “sign-out” items will be queried.
