Benue Links Bus Attacked, Passengers Abducted

A Benue Links Nigeria Limited bus, carrying 12 passengers and a driver, has been attacked by armed kidnappers at Eke Elengbecho in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State.

The incident occurred at exactly 6:30 pm on Sunday. The vehicle, with registration number 14B-143BN, was traveling from Abeokuta to Makurdi when it was ambushed.

The driver and 11 passengers were abducted, while one passenger managed to escape and reported the incident to the Eke Police Station.

In a statement issued on Monday, Johnson Ehi, Information Officer of Benue Links Nigeria Limited, said: “We condemn the attack in the strongest terms and express solidarity with the families of the abducted passengers and driver. “We commend the swift response of law enforcement agencies and have confidence in their ongoing efforts to bring this situation to a safe and prompt resolution,” Ehi added.

The company assured the public that it will continue to collaborate with security agencies to secure the safe return of the abducted passengers and driver, working closely with them to ensure the victims’ safe release.
