A 42-year-old jobless man, Kenneth Bonboyi, has been arrested for allegedly raping two minors, who are his neighbors’ children, aged 5 and 9 years old.
According to the mother of the nine-year-old girl, the incident occurred last Friday afternoon in Jenta, Jos North Local Government Area of northern Plateau State.
She stated that Kenneth lured the children into his one-room apartment and committed the act. The weeping mother who cried out for justice, reported that the children underwent medical checks at the police clinic in Jos, where it was confirmed that they were penetrated. According to her, the five-year-old child sustained injuries to her private parts.
The rapist, who initially denied penetrating the children with his manhood, later confessed to the crime. He had initially claimed that he only “fingered” the children.
It was gathered that Kenneth was earlier apprehended by neighbors and handed over to the police at A Division Jos, but the case was later transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for deeper and thorough investigations.
Investigations by The Voice in Jos revealed that the said rapist has been indulging in such evil acts over the years.
Meanwhile officials of the Plateau State Government Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission, an agency advocating for the rights of women and children, have indicated an interest in taking up the case to ensure justice is served against Kenneth Bonboyi.
Sources said none of Kenneth Bonboyi’s relatives came to his rescue up to the time of filing this report on Thursday.
