The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed Supplementary Appropriation of N156.687, 479,388.94 into law in order to cater for the welfare of Nasarawa residents.
The Speaker of the House, Hon Danladi Jatau announced the passage of the bill into law during the House proceedings on Wednesday in Lafia.
According to him, if the Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule signs the supplementary appropriations bill into law, it will enable his administration to finish ongoing projects.
“The total size of the recurrent expenditure after adjustment stands at N150,310, 075,773.14, whereas, the total size of the capital expenditure will be N206, 256,774,325.22
“The total size of the budget for the year 2024 after adjustment is N356,566,850,098.36” he said.
He noted that the Sule led administration has achieved a lot in terms of revenue generation in the year under review.
The Speaker, therefore directed the Clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the bill for the Governor’s assent.
Earlier, the Deputy Majority Leader of the House, Hon Abel Bala moved a motion for the bill to scale third reading and was seconded by the Minority Leader of the House, Hon Luka Zhekaba.
The House then unanimously passed the bill into law.
It would be recalled that in December 2023, the House approved N199.8 billion budget the for 2024 fiscal year.The state’s 2024 budget now stands at N356.5 billion after the supplementary appropriations bill was approved by the Assembly.
